Tie Dye Sock Donation to Homeless Women
Before Covid, LA’s homeless problem was dreadful and now it’s downright shocking. And homeless women are even more vulnerable. Of course right now traditional volunteering is not an option. But we can help provide in other ways.
For every pair of tie dye socks sold, we’re donating a pair to the Downtown Women’s Center- the the only organization in L.A. focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women.
DWC offers a Day Center- a safe space for women in the heart of the Skid Row neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles. Even during Covid, the Day Center continues to offer :
- Face masks and hygiene kits.
- 3 nutritious meals daily (pick up from 9-10am).
- Clean bathrooms and showers.
- Changes of clothes, including clean socks and underwear.
- A mailing address to receive mail.
DWC also offers a health clinic and over 100 units of permanent supportive housing in Skid Row.
We’re about to drop off our first donation batch (they asked us to wait until end of January). We have 12 pairs of tie dye socks remaining, and we’re inviting you to purchase a pair, so that we can contribute just a little bit more.
